Description
This template creates a project box for use on the profiles of people who were present in the New Netherland area or played an important part in the history or community of New Netherland, but do not meet the criteria of being a New Netherland Settler or a descendant of a Settler. For example, the template may be used on profiles of:
- Dutch West India Company officials who participated in the governance of New Netherland but never settled there.
- Huguenot settlers who arrived in the New Netherland area between 1674 and 1700, including some children of those settlers born soon after 1700.
- British soldiers stationed in New York after 1674 who settled there and married daughters of New Netherland settlers.
- Dutch Church clergy assigned to serve the New Netherland community in the years after Dutch governance ended.
- The project box template should be used only on profiles of New Netherland Community members that have the New Netherland Settlers Project as a profile manager, or that are thought to need to have the project as a profile manager.
The Project Box belongs on any profile managed by the project. Put the template above the == Biography == headline and below any categories or Research Note Boxes without any extra lines or hard returns. You can include a needs modifier to put the profile in a Project Needs maintenance category (see Parameters).
